OVERVIEW

McLaren’s Longtail series exists to push the boundaries of performance – they are our most extreme track-day supercars. The McLaren 600LT, fourth in the series, is no exception.

Its 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine delivers 600 PS (598 bhp) of power. The top-exit exhausts, mounted just above the driver’s shoulders, channel an unforgettable soundtrack into the cabin. Unsurprisingly, the 600LT forges such a visceral connection between car and driver that it has been showered with awards.

PURE CONNECTION

The McLaren 600LT’s carbon fibre MonoCell II chassis and aluminium body panels – designed to increase downforce – contribute to a dry weight as low as 1,247 kg (2,749 lbs). With an astonishing power-to-weight ratio of 481 PS (474 bhp) per tonne, the 600LT achieves a phenomenal acceleration: from 0-100 kph (0-62 mph) in just under three seconds.

Together, these elements create the heightened track-focused precision and uncompromising raw thrills that define every Longtail.

Precision Meets Power

Extreme weight-saving measures were at the heart of the McLaren 600LT program from its outset, with a reduction of 211.6lbs against the DIN weight of a 570S Coupé targeted and achieved. Built using the lightweight carbon fiber monocoque chassis for which McLaren is renowned, the 600LT further benefits from new carbon fiber bodywork that lowers vehicle weight as well as optimizing aerodynamic performance. Unique top-exit exhausts ensure that the new LT model has a distinct aesthetic appearance that identifies it as something particularly special, as well as delivering a substantial weight saving and an incredible aural experience.

The new carbon-fiber bodywork and large rear diffuser deliver substantially increased downforce to further enhance the 600LT dynamic experience, especially on a track. The driver is encouraged by the deep-rooted and incredibly pure connection with the car to fully exploit the optimized aerodynamics, reduced weight, increased power and track-focused dynamics. This higher level of excellence and engagement is the ethos at the heart of the McLaren 600LT, just as it was with the McLaren 675LT models and the McLaren F1 GTR ‘Longtail’ before them.
