Overview

There is no mistaking a McLaren Elva, nor forgetting the thrill of driving one. Unimpaired by roof or windscreen, this ultralight supercar is as eye-catching as it is fast. Its name pays homage to the McLaren-Elva sports racers from the 1960s. These were lightweight, open-top cars developed by Bruce McLaren and built in collaboration with the British company Elva Cars.

The Elva is a true engineering marvel thanks to McLaren’s proprietary Active Air Management System. A world-first, its exterior surface is designed to guide high-speed air over the cabin. This creates a turbulence-free zone for total comfort and control.

POWER AND BEAUTY

At the time of it’s unveiling, the Elva was the lightest of McLaren’s creations, with a dry weight starting at 1,148 kg (2,531 lbs). The Full Carbon Fibre Body is made from just three main panels, creating a clean, sculpted profile — light and elegant.

Powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, with Proactive Chassis Control II, the McLaren Elva’s handling is effortless. Meanwhile, the roadster’s quad exhaust system creates a rich soundtrack that thunders into the open interior. A car as powerful as it is beautiful.

Blistering Open-Air Power

The interior is a minimalist, driver-first sanctuary, stripped of unnecessary distractions and designed to maximize weight savings. The exposed carbon fiber and Alcantara finish give it a raw, race-inspired feel that matches the car’s extreme performance.

The Elva is all about connection—its steering is razor sharp, and the chassis responds instantly to your inputs, making you feel like part of the machine. With no windshield and the wind rushing through the cockpit, every drive becomes an immersive, adrenaline-fueled experience.
